A few months ago I had an itch to get out with my gear and find something to photograph. After much pondering I decided to head down to D.C. and get a few shots of union station. Union station is an Amtrak train station that is a historical landmark in D.C. Most particularly interesting is the ceiling inside the terminal, and this what I had aimed to get some good photos of. After trekking all the way thru heavy traffic and having to park a good bit away from the location, I arrived at the station only to find out that the terminal was a mess and that the ceiling was covered in a thick black mesh and scaffolding. Not to mention that for some reason they had turned off the lights they use to showcase the ceiling in the first place. I was none too enthused at the situation, but then I soon realized that rather than sulking about this dilemma, it is best to move on and find something else in or about the building to shoot. The result is the photo above.
