This is Nettles. He wandered onto my property at least ten years ago. His left ear is clipped because a program we have here in Maryland in which feral cats are captured, fixed, and released back into the wild. Their ears are cut so that if they are spotted or caught again, you already know that they have been fixed. For years we thought he was a female. This was because whenever he came around, I thought he cried like a little girl. His hair is messy and he has so much of it, that it wasn’t until years later when we finally got him to the vet that we found out that he was a she. We left him with a female name because by the time we found out his sex, he was used to it. It doesn’t matter though, because to me he still sounds like a girl. Since he won’t let you brush him we shave him in the summer so he doesn’t get so hot. When summer rolls around I will post such a pic so you can see a cat shaved like a poodle.
