Yesterday Sheila and I wanted to take the dogs out, as we had promised them a good hike. So we went to one our many “go to” spots. The place that we had decided on was the Monocacy National Battlefield here in Frederick MD. The battlefield is really comprised of five farms that total 1,647 acres. Each farm has it’s own set of trails and Worthington Farm is our favorite because of how the trails loop around the property and hug the Monocacy river. It was a great day in the fact that, due to the snow, we basically had the farm to ourselves. I found this fence post in the shot above off the trail hidden amongst some old locust trees. It probably marked the property line over 160 years ago when the farm house (which is still standing) was built. As many times as I’ve been here there is always something new to shoot.
